Cristy Kissel, M.S., ABC-MT

Cristy has over 23 years of Forensic DNA and crime scene experience. With over 15 years of lab experience with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science, Alabama Department of Forensic Science, she also created the first all-women ISO 17025 accredited forensic laboratory in South Carolina. Cristy has experience as a bench scientist, technical leader, and laboratory director, including obtaining and managing millions of funds for forensic lab use.  Cristy has experience testifying at the state and federal levels, and is an ISO-17025 and FBI QAS forensic laboratory auditor and has served as a member of the NIST Scientific Area Committee (OSAC) for Forensic DNA.  Cristy has helped consultant on over a dozen cold cases as well as helped solve cases using forensic genetic genealogy.

Cristy is also a certified secondary science educator and adjunct professor.  Cristy has created forensic science curriculum for high schools and university programs and currently is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
